With 20 years of dedicated service to the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office, I am proud to announce my candidacy for Sheriff. My extensive experience, leadership, and commitment to our community make me uniquely qualified to serve and protect the residents of Rock Island County.
As a Sergeant, I have had the privilege of leading both 1st and 2nd shift patrols. In this role, I supervise deputy sheriffs, coordinate patrol operations, ensure adherence to departmental policies, and respond to critical incidents. My leadership focuses on fostering teamwork, promoting officer safety, and delivering high-quality service to our community. By mentoring deputies and collaborating with other agencies, I strive to maintain a professional and effective Sheriff’s Office that prioritizes public safety.
My journey with the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office began in 2005 as a Correctional Officer, where I developed a strong foundation in public safety and conflict resolution. In 2010, after graduating from the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois, I became a Deputy Sheriff. As a patrol deputy, I responded to emergency calls, conducted investigations, enforced traffic laws, and engaged with the community to prevent crime. These duties honed my ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure while building trust with the residents I serve.
In 2012, I was assigned to the Village of Carbon Cliff, where I embraced community-oriented policing. Raised in an underprivileged community myself, I understand the challenges many face. I worked tirelessly to empower youth, foster hope, and bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community. By building strong relationships, I became a trusted figure, demonstrating that positive change is possible through collaboration and understanding.
In 2014, I expanded my expertise by becoming a certified Bomb Technician, trained at the prestigious Hazardous Device School in Huntsville, Alabama, through the FBI and the United States Military. This role underscores my commitment to protecting our community from complex threats, requiring precision, composure, and specialized knowledge.
As your Sheriff, I will bring proven leadership, a deep connection to our community, and an unwavering dedication to public safety. My vision is a Sheriff’s Office that is transparent, innovative, and responsive to the needs of all residents. Together, we can build a safer, stronger Rock Island County.
